The creator and curator of Tarmak007 is Anantha Krishnan Muralidharan Nair (AK). I am a Bangalore-based aviation and defence journalist with rich experience in reporting, editing, designing and in Corporate Communication. My story: As a 19-year-old, I started my career in 1993-94 with Hyderabad-based Deccan Chronicle newspaper. I moved out of Deccan Chronicle in 1997 and joined the Times of India, Bangalore as a Senior Copy Editor. At TOI, I was heading the Metro Desk as a Chief Copy Editor in addition to writing on defence and aviation regularly. Quit TOI in 2005.
Lured by the babudom, I joined Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) as its Chief of Media Communications and Official Spokesperson in 2005. Edited two publications -- Minsk Square Matters (MSM) and The Plane – in addition to looking after the branding and media needs of HAL. In 2007, while at HAL, helped former Indian President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to launch his dream e-paper Billion Beats and was its National Affairs Editor.
In 2008, along with couple of media friends launched the Inspired Indian Foundation – a platform for unsung heroes as its founder President. In 2009 released the first book A Different Spirit – the authorized biography of noted wheelchair athlete Malathi Holla. The same year bid goodbye to HAL to join Aviation Week as its Senior Aerospace and Defence Correspondent (India). Was part of Aviation Week’s launch team responsible for its India microsite.
In 2010, helped launch the Forum of Defence and Aerospace Journalists, Bangalore (FDAJB) -- a unique platform for sharing knowledge. Currently the National Coordinator for FDAJB.
In 2011 October, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam handed over the responsibility of bringing out his e-paper Billion Beats again with the blogger. Currently the Hon. Editor of Billion Beats.
