BATL to roll out first missile by 2011

BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd. (BATL) is expected to roll out its first fully-integrated supersonic BrahMos cruise missile by 2011.The missile is currently being integrated at the BrahMos Integration Complex (BIC) in Hyderabad. The BATL Phase-II would supplement BIC and the missile production rate would definitely soar by 2011. A  possible third phase of expansion is being discussed for the integration of space launch vehicles for the Indian Space Research Organization.

BATL ready with first prototype of BrahMos launcher

India’s BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (BATL) is ready with the first prototype of an indigenous airborne launcher developed for the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. The air-launched version of the missile will be fitted to the Su-30 MKI aircraft. The basic design of the launcher was conceived by BrahMos engineers from Hyderabad and accepted by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. The launcher must undergo one more final test before it is fitted onto the Su-30 MKI for flight trials.

Touchdown Thiruvananthapuram: BATL ready to deliver first set of BrahMos sub-systems

India’s BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (BATL) is ready to deliver the first set of critical subsystems for the supersonic cruise missile BrahMos. BATL Executive Director N.R. Vishnu Kartha tells Aviation Week during a site visit that the facility is making nine metallic subsystems for the missile. “We have an order for 20 sets. The first set is ready and BATL hopes to complete [the] remaining [sets] within a year,” Vishnu Kartha said. “Further sets will be ordered after qualification tests.” BATL has also taken up development of Booster I & II of the BrahMos.
